New Ground-breaking eLearning Toolkit to Improve Housing Options Across Scotland Launched

Following a formal procurement process, Aurion Learning has been appointed to develop and build an innovative Scottish Housing Options Learning Toolkit – comprising of eLearning and classroom training resources.

For the first time in Scotland, all Scottish councils and Glasgow Housing Association have come together in a pioneering partnership to develop a new co-ordinated toolkit that will help people sustain their homes, prevent homelessness and aid front-line staff in delivering improved information and advice.

In collaboration with selected subject specialists across the 32 local authorities and 1 housing association, Aurion Learning will lead the design and development of the new learning courseware to create the ground-breaking toolkit.

Commenting on the project announcement, Gavin Woods, Client Services Director at Aurion Learning said:

“At Aurion, we believe that with the right behaviours, attitudes and learning support we can tackle the big issues."

"The Housing options initiative is ground-breaking in its approach to tackling homelessness. Given the scope of the toolkit, we look forward to playing our part in designing a flexible toolkit of learning resources; focused on supporting and equipping staff to put housing options into practice.”

Julie Hunter, Business Solutions Manager, North Lanarkshire Council and Lead Officer of the West Hub, said, "This is such an exciting development that will ensure housing's workforce is well-trained and fully developed to meet many of housing's challenges with confidence and deliver competent high-quality services in a co-ordinated and consistent way.”

"The procurement process has been complex. It's the first time all 32 Scottish councils and a housing association have signed up to deliver a co-ordinated training toolkit to benefit staff and residents across the country.”

"Five regional hubs were established to focus on homelessness prevention and they have helped progress discussions and actions to make our vision a reality. I'm really excited at the benefits the e-Learning and training toolkit will bring not just for providers of housing options and advice, but for people using our services."

The Scottish Housing Options Training Toolkit is due to be released later this year.
